college_at_any_ageChanging careers in today’s economy often means going back to college to learn new skills. Technical and community colleges are usually the first place to which career changers turn, and not just because they’re a good value.

College for adult learners

Technical and community colleges have served adult learners for decades. We understand the challenges faced by older students who often have family and job responsibilities.

With our affordable tuition, evening and online courses, and experience serving older students, York Technical College is your best choice for gaining the skills and credentials you need to advance your career and enrich your life.

More support

York Tech embraces student success as its primary and defining mission, and we support learning through small classes, free tutoring, instructional technology, and personal attention from faculty who know you by name. For many, York Tech is a better choice than a large university campus that has 200-seat lecture halls.

Half the cost

In these challenging economic times, getting the most value from your educational investment is more important than ever. Check the tuition and fees charged by the other institutions you may be considering, and you’ll see that York Tech is a smart investment for higher education. You’ll find that tuition and fees are nearly half those of a state university campus and a quarter or less of what you’d pay at a private college.

Courses to fit your schedule

You understand that college could help your career and enrich your life. But can it fit into your busy life? York Tech knows you have other obligations, so the college offers classes in several formats to accommodate adult lives.

For those with traditional 9-to-5 jobs, York Tech offers an extensive lineup of evening classes. Many of these classes meet only one day a week, saving commuting expenses and minimizing the disruption of your daily routine. York Tech also offers online and “hybrid” courses, which combine online learning with occasional classroom meetings.

York Tech serves three counties: Chester, Lancaster and York. We bring quality education directly to your neighborhood through our off-campus centers in Chester, Kershaw and Indian Land.

Career starters and career changers

York Technical College offers a number of two-year degree programs to prepare you for immediate entry into a career or transfer to a four-year university. Many of these programs also offer one-year diplomas, and even shorter term certificate programs.

In addition to programs that grant academic credit, the college’s Corporate and Continuing Education division offers multiple ways to get training for positions that don’t require a degree.

Financial aid is available

Although York Tech offers a quality education at a very reasonable price, you may have concerns about how you’ll finance your studies.
